A bit more on my fresh start on Substack. I also have a Wordpress site and as I told my folks, I may use it more for family postings and pictures, this one for my professional writing and politics.
I’m here because Substack believes in the free exchange of ideas. I’m a civil libertarian, close to a libertarian in most of my views. Live and let live primarily. Though I’m not for late term abortion (that’s barbarism and so unnecessary when we have birth control—except for the life of the mother). And I’m not for giving hormones and/or blockers and/or surgery to children who have not gone through puberty and just can’t possibly make such a life altering decision that soon. So that might move into conservative territory with many folks. Oh, and I’m not for mandating vaccines, at least not this one. It doesn’t stop the spread or infectivity which is the only argument they have (still debatable) to force me to do it. Another thing that probably pushes me farther right.
It will take me (with my daughter’s help) a while to get my publishing credits up here and get my books for sale. And to learn to navigate this site properly. So bear with me.
Complicating the above is that my father died this last summer and now one of his best friends as well last night (my mother having passed of a massive stroke in 1994) — so it’s taken a toll on me especially at the holidays. Though I’m counting on my work to get me refocused, it’s gonna be baby steps.
Meantime if you’re interested in seeing our holiday food pictures (I am a carnivore/keto gal), check me out and/or follow me at lekimball.com
I’m working on a nonfiction memoir/cookbook and also a more commercial TimeDream sort of novel. So I think I’ll be posting food posts and dream posts and snippets of fiction here as well as some political rants.
Have a good Tuesday—many people are busy, but our holiday celebrations were last weekend due to rotating schedules of my daughter and her husband.
